Short-sightedness
Short-sightedness is a type of refractive error where good vision is given when looking at close objects but the image becomes blurry when looking at distant objects.
Long-sighted people usually do not experience any trouble when looking at distant objects. However, they perceive a blurry image when looking at close objects.
Presbyopia is not a refractive error in a stricter sense but rather a result of the eye’s natural aging process. The condition occurs more frequently with people aged over 45.
Astigmatism is caused by irregularities on the cornea. Thereby, incoming light cannot be refracted in the cornea and the eye lens, and can therefore not be focussed on the retina.
