Keratoconus is an eye disorder in which the usual spherical-cap shape of the cornea becomes conical in a certain part, which impairs vision. The progress of the disorder depends on the patient\u2019s age and also its duration. The earlier the beginning of the disorder is, the faster the progress. Keratoconus usually affects both eyes, typically asymmetrically.<\/p>\n

What are the signs of keratoconus?<\/h2>\n

At the onset of the disease, it is generally sufficient to use glasses. With the further development of the disease, cornea wakens and arches is getting be conical, causing irregular astigmatism. This conditon can no longer be corrected with glasses.<\/p>\n

The progression of the disease depends on the age of the paient and its duration. Keratokonus often affects both eyes, mostly asymmetrically. It’s a genetic disease and it skips generations sometimes. It usually begins in adolescence and tends to be linked with allergies.<\/p>\n
