This Friday, July 28, 2023, Head Physician Pavel Stod\u016flka will perform the ReLEx Smile procedure in Vienna for the first time. Currently, Gemini Augenlaser is the only eye clinic in Vienna and its surrounding areas offering this technology for correcting refractive errors.<\/b><\/h3>\n

ReLEx Smile is a very gentle and minimally invasive method that utilizes the VisuMax femtosecond laser from the German manufacturer Zeiss. Unlike conventional FEMTO LASIK, the surgeon does not create a corneal flap, but instead makes a tiny incision to remove the excess part of the cornea after the correction of the refractive error using the laser. As a result, there is only minimal mechanical disruption of the cornea. This allows a quicker recovery after the surgery, enabling the patient to return to normal daily activities sooner.<\/span><\/p>\n

This surgical approach is suitable for myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia. For some patients, it may be advantageous in terms of reducing the risk of dry eye syndrome.
